Hunting with eagles is believed to be 1,000 years old; however falconry has been in practice in Central Asia for 6000 years. Falconry was not introduced into Europe and China until the Mongolian Conquest by Chinngis Khaan in the 13th Century. Chinngis had 1,000 hunting eagles, falcons, and gyrfalcons. Though falconry spread to other parts of the world, eagle hunting is only found in Central Asia among the descendents of a Mongolian Kingdom near the Aral Sea that became the Kazakhs. When the Russians conquered the region in the 1860s, they began suppressing eagle hunting and other militaristic customs of the warrior-nomads. Many Kazakhs fled into lawless border region of western China and Mongolia.
Eagle hunting tour - 10 day
Day 1: Arrive Ulaanbaatar
By your arrival in UB meet by our guide and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Ulaanbaatar city tour
We will do city site seeing tour. Explore Gandan Monastery, National Historical Museum, Sukhbaatar square and see monument of Genghis Khan and tour to Zaisan Hill Memorial and Buddha Garden. Lunch and dinner time in a typical Mongolian Restaurant.
Day 3: Ulgii city
Come to Ulgii city and meet our guide and driver. Transfer to the hotel/ger camp and have a lunch.Visit the local museum of Ulgii town with comprenhensive information of flora and fauna of Bayan Ulgii aimag as well as it colourfull traditional costumes. (Ger is the Mongolian word for "Nomad Tent". )

Day 9: Return to Ulgii
After early breakfast, drive via Ulaanhus over desert mountain landscapes, with the snow-capped Sogoog Mountain as a powerful backdrop and the Altai Mountain range ahead of us. Enjoy photographing the charming landscape. After 5-6 hours, arrive back to Ulgii town. Overnight in tourist camp.
Day 5-8: Altai Kazakh hunting with golden eagle
The Mongolian Kazakhs use for hunt,ing female eagles as far they are bigger mail ones and more aggressive.These eagles are trained to hunt foxs, wolves, rabbit and wild cat. Every day going side by side with eaglehunter to hunt mostly fox we learn and enjoy this unique customes of the Mongolian Kazakhs.We have the chance to visit some Kazakh and we stay with the Kazakh Dombro Player. Overnights with family.
Day 4: To visit Kazakh Eaglehunter's family
Drive to the village of Sagsai to stay with an eagle-hunter and his family. Go hunting everday, riding horseback along with the hunter as he explores the mountains in every direction in search of prey. Who is Tauekel one of the most famous and experience eagle-hunters in the region.Tauekel has been hunting for more than 12 years and now he focuses on passing the craft onto the next generation of hunters.
Day 10:Fly to UB
After breakfast, you will be driven back to internal airport, Ulgii with your guide for your return flight to Ulaanbaatar. End trip
